3 – Dive into Cozy Beach’s Dining and Lounging Scene

Cozy Beach in Pratumnak is redefining Pattaya’s leisure scene with its upscale beach clubs and restaurants, attracting a new clientele to Pattaya, including trendsetting travelers from Bangkok.

This is one of our favorite areas to hang out for a sunset dinner or even a simple afternoon coffee. It’s our top recommendation for things to do in Pattaya for couples!

Venues like Oxygen, Luna and The Kliff offer an Ibiza-like blend of luxury and relaxation, set against the backdrop of stunning sea views.

Three Mermaids stands out for Instagrammers with several tables inside giant bird nests perched over the sea, while Forest by the Sky and Sky Gallery are stunning restaurants to drink and eat with yet more awesome views across the sea towards Koh Larn.

Honestly, we love these beach clubs and the fact they’re all just around the corner from our condo! These places are not just dining spots; they are destinations in themselves, marking a new era of sophistication to Pattaya’s beachside allure.

4 – All You Can Eat at Thepprasit Night Market

Thepprasit Night Market stands out in Pattaya as a culinary hotspot, especially for lovers of authentic Thai cuisine. It’s our favorite Pattaya night market for the largest choice of food.

For some cultured sightseeing in Pattaya, the Sanctuary of Truth is an awe-inspiring wooden wonder, towering majestically over the shores like a testament to human craftsmanship and philosophical inquiry.

7 – Climb Pratumnak’s Peaks: Viewpoint and Big Buddha Awaits

Sat atop Pratumnak Hill, the Viewpoint not only offers breathtaking panoramic views of Pattaya’s cityscape and boat-filled bay but also houses a quaint café right at its peak. Here, you can enjoy an iced drink while enjoying the stunning scenery.

Just a short but steep walk away, the majestic Big Buddha adds a touch of serenity and awe, making this duo of attractions a must-visit. The convenience of having these two sites nearby means you can easily enjoy awesome views and spiritual tranquility in one visit!

But of course, it’s one of the most popular places to visit in Pattaya at sunset, so expect bigger crowds at that time.

8 – Seek Out Pattaya’s Secret Beaches

Beyond the bustling shores of Pattaya and Jomtien Beaches lie Pattaya’s hidden gems, waiting to be discovered by those who venture off the beaten path.

Cosy Beach, found in Pratumnak, is a beautiful bay backed with high cliffs covered in tropical plants.

On the other side of Pratunmak is the secluded sands of Paradise Beach. We almost want to keep this one a secret but you’ll find it at the bottom of Soi 4 just 100 meters from our home. This is probably Pattaya’s most unknown beach. Take a seat at Beach Bum Bar’s long bar table and enjoy a drink or food at any time of the day.

Wongamat Beach, in North Pattaya, is known for its upscale vibe, lined with luxury condos and chic beachfront cafes, making it a sophisticated spot for a sun-soaked day.

Dongtan Beach, with its many shaded areas, and chill beach bars, offers a more laid-back atmosphere, popular among the local LGBT community and families. The several volleyball courts on Dongtan Beach are popular hangouts for expats each and every sunset.

9 – Embark on a Spiritual Temple Hopping Adventure

Pattaya tourist places aren’t just about beach fun and nightlife; it’s also a haven for temple enthusiasts! Start with Wat Chai Mongkhon, the city’s oldest Buddhist sanctuary, steeped in history and royal connections.

Venture 30 minutes out to the expansive Wat Yansangwararam, near the Viharn Sien museum, where hours can slip by as you explore. Don’t miss the striking Wat Huay Yai, with its vivid red roof and golden details, or the serene Wat Nong Ket Yai, showcasing classic Thai Buddhist architecture.

Dedicate a day to temple hopping in Pattaya for a soulful journey through Thailand’s spiritual heritage.

10 – Refuel at Pattaya’s Coolest Coffee Shops

Pattaya and Jomtien are buzzing with a vibrant coffee scene, rivaling the famed cafés of Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Each cafe offers something very different with many of them becoming popular Pattaya tourist spots. We have been to almost all of them!

Some of our favorites are Jomtien’s Brouke Cafe with its minimal design on white sand flooring, while Casa Myka offers a cozy Mediterranean-style retreat complete with a nice water-feature garden at the back.

14 – Find Your New Favorite Craft Beer

Pattaya is riding the wave of the craft beer revolution, with several new craft beer bars popping up across the city, signaling a growing trend that’s capturing the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Including us!

These new spots such as Beer Hub on Pattaya Beach Road offer an impressive selection of local and international brews. However, Pattaya hasn’t quite got the craft-beer-bar-cool interiors that you’d find in Europe. They’re usually restaurants with pretty bad singers for entertainment but they serve good beers nonetheless.

This exciting trend is a fresh twist to Pattaya’s nightlife, offering a more laid-back alternative to the traditional bar scene. It’s a movement we’re eagerly watching, hopeful for its continued growth and the diversity it brings to the things to do in Pattaya at night.

15 – Cheers to the Cocktail Beach Bar Vans

Pattaya’s Beach Road has embraced a unique and quirky addition to its nightlife with the birth of bars set up in converted camper vans and trucks. This inventive concept has added a novel charm to the city’s promenade, offering a refreshing way to enjoy Pattaya at night.

Each mobile bar, with its distinct design and vibe, serves up a variety of drinks, from classic cocktails to cold beers, right on the beachfront. This creative twist on traditional bars not only enhances Pattaya’s nightlife but also provides a relaxed, open-air setting where locals and tourists can people-watch under the stars.

It’s a welcome innovation that perfectly complements Pattaya’s vibrant night scene. But this shouldn’t be considered as only one of the top things to do in Pattaya for adults – being outside, there are no minimum age restrictions so feel free to bring the kids for soft drinks!

16 – Drink and Dine at the Best Rooftop Bars

Pattaya’s skyline is graced with a surprising number of rooftop bars, bringing a slice of Bangkok’s famed nightlife and sophistication to the coastal city. Also adding some romance for more things to do in Pattaya at night for couples.

Venues like Horizon Rooftop, Virgin Rooftop Pattaya and The Sky 32 are not just inventive cocktails and premium spirits, but also panoramic views that stretch across the bay, making every sip a moment to remember.

17 – Take a Speed Boat to Koh Larn (Coral Island)

Escape to Ko Larn for a day trip from Pattaya and discover an island paradise just a short ferry ride away.

During the Covid pandemic, Ko Larn was one of our favorite places to visit in Pattaya but has since gotten busier with day trippers so we visit less frequently these days.

Depart from Bali Hai Pier and step into a day of crystal-clear waters and soft sandy beaches. Ko Larn offers a vibrant mix of serene spots like Samae Beach and bustling shores like Tawaen Beach, each with its unique charm.

20 – Golf and Chill at Asia Pattaya Hotel

The Asia Pattaya Hotel in Pratumnak offers a distinctive golfing experience with its large pitch-and-putt course.

This compact course is ideal for players looking to practice their short game in a relaxed setting, without the commitment of a full-size course. The course is set amongst tropical palm trees, providing both beauty and challenge.
